Hives and Ginger Cookies

Day 21 was a CRAZY day!  Honestly, there aren't many days that aren't crazy.  Having the 3-recipes-a-day goal looming over my head is tough.  When I'm not able to make any recipes on certain days, I feel like a failure.  I have made 55 recipes so far, and all I can think about is that I'm 8 recipes behind my goal of 3-recipes-a-day.  I know I'll make them up somehow, though.

I got home from class at 8:50 pm, and as soon as I walked through the door, I was greeted by my son covered in raised rashes that were hot to the touch, all over his lower body.  I made frantic phone calls to my next door neighbor who is a nurse practitioner and then finally to the doctor on-call.  We figured out that he had hives, probably a virus of some sort.  After Benadryl, he was better, and he's now sleeping soundly. Anyway, I managed to make ginger cookies and didn't finish the dough until 10:38 pm.  They have to be refrigerated for 2 hours so I won't have pictures of the finished cookies until tomorrow.  Here is a pic of the rolled dough, though.

I'm hoping that tomorrow Shamus will be hive-free and back to normal.  I have to end the blog here tonight so that I can tackle the mountains (plural) of laundry; otherwise none of us will have clothes to wear or towels to use tomorrow morning.  Just another day in the life of the Hunt family....
