Angel Food Cake and Lots of Garlic

I'm back!  I managed to make 4 recipes tonight, but I wanted to make 10, then 5 when 10 was too out of control.  I was all set to make recipe #5, and I realized I didn't have chicken broth so recipe #5 was out.  I'll make it tomorrow.  Although 4 recipes clearly isn't 10, it's still a big undertaking, trust me.

This afternoon I made angel food swirl cake.  This was my first ever angel food cake, and I'm thankful that Mom bought me a tube pan so that I was able to make it.  The "swirl" part was mushed up raspberries, and it was delicious.  I also made roast chicken with potatoes and garlic, slow-roasted tomatoes served on toasted rustic bread (didn't make that, by the way) and sauteed zucchini and yellow squash with mint.  It was quite a sophisticated meal....so sophisticated the kiddos didn't really want anything to do with it.  The chicken was moist and tender, and the slow-roasted tomatoes on the rustic toast was light and flavorful.  The sauteed zucchini recipe was a little anti-climatic, not much flavor for a lot of work.

Despite not reaching my goal of 10 recipes for the day, I still feel accomplished in making 4 recipes.  The house smells fantastic, and our bellies are full.  My goal is to keep on keeping on, and I'm going to try to put off the veal dishes for a very long time.  I saw a documentary about veal that I won't soon forget.  Anyway, have a great night and watch "GLEE" tonight on FOX.  Sweet dreams!
