18 Days and Counting

I'm 18 days into Project Melissa & Martha, and as of tonight, I have made 50 recipes.  That leaves 1,050 recipes left to complete by September 1, 2010.  We didn't have a guest over for dinner as planned, but she's coming over next Friday so I hope to make 6 or so recipes that night.

Tonight I made blondies and cornmeal pastry.  Blondies are essentially chocolate chip cookies in bar form, and it smells really good in the Hunt house tonight.  The cornmeal pastry recipe made 2 crusts that have to be refrigerated overnight, and tomorrow I plan on using them in pies.  I haven't decided which pies I'm going to make yet, but at least the crusts are done.

I have this recurring daydream about Williams-Sonoma.  In my daydream, Williams-Sonoma finds out about my project and blog, and the Providence store wants to do a promotion with me to advertise my blog and the Williams-Sonoma brand.  Williams-Sonoma offers to give me 5 minutes to grab whatever I can grab in the store; I can grab ANYTHING.  That would be sooo awesome!  I could grab culinary tools that I didn't even know that I needed.  Anyway, people, it's just a daydream, and these are the types of daydreams I've been having lately. Martha has every kind of culinary equipment conceivable; it must be nice to be Martha.
